Music Premiere: Feral Family Unleash Their Fierce New EP ‘So Far Behind’

Unsigned indie rockers Feral Family are back with a six-track surge of raw intensity and cinematic depth on their sophomore EP, So Far Behind, released February 6, 2026. The release comes via a collaborative push from Music Crowns and Decent Music PR, marking a major step in the band’s meteoric rise.

Hailing from a windswept East Coast town staring into the North Sea, Feral Family have already made waves on both sides of the Atlantic. They stormed a national competition to support Only The Poets at the historic Brixton Academy, thrilling fans at The Purple Turtle in Reading, and recently secured a runner-up spot for Best Indie Band at Radio Wigwam’s annual awards for the second consecutive year. Their music has also landed on the iconic KEXP playlist, cementing their status as one of the UK’s most compelling emerging acts.

So Far Behind is described by the band as “more like a condensed album — six huge songs that we’re buzzing to deliver.” Across its six tracks, Feral Family channel dark, brooding, and thrillingly intense energy (God Is In The TV) into a sound that blends indie, post-punk, and alternative rock. Guitarist Oscar Woods explains, “The songs are rooted in love, loss, and yearning — experiences that echo throughout your life,” while frontman Jamie Lowe adds, “Our new drummer, Regan Grimson, brings even more heat to these tracks.”

The EP balances riff-driven intensity with emotional vulnerability, drawing comparisons to Foals, IDLES, and Fontaines D.C., and has already earned praise from publications like Apricot Magazine, who called Feral Family “one of the most compelling new acts in UK alternative music.”

Produced and mixed by Liam Radburn at Magic Garden Studios, the EP features:

  • The Balance
  • Endless Night
  • Taste of Life
  • Feels So Right
  • Catalina
  • Down in the Dirt

Feral Family’s previous successes include multiple Top 10 singles, airplay from John Kennedy (Radio X), Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music), and Jericho Keys (BBC Introducing), and syncs on E4’s Made in Chelsea and The Independent’s “Now Hear This” playlist.

Catch them live on their upcoming UK tour:

  • Feb 6 – Lock 17, Dingwalls, London
  • Feb 12 – Sidney & Matilda, Sheffield
  • Feb 27 – Oporto, Leeds (supporting The Nightswimmers)
  • Mar 6 – Peer Hat, Manchester (supporting Avid Fan)

With So Far Behind, Feral Family are not just keeping pace—they’re defining the sound of UK indie rock in 2026, and this release is a statement: the band is hungry, unrelenting, and impossible to ignore.
