The Utopiates long-awaited second album ‘Let’s Make This Happen’ is finally out.
The album launch follows a very successful 2025, where they masterminded a string of BBC Radio 6 and Radio X endorsed releases.
With 10 well crafted tracks that deliver outstanding lyrics and first class production.
The Utopiates have really put their all into this amazing work of musical art.
The album begins with grungy beats courtesy of the opening track ‘Lost My Groove,’ which also features a catchy percussion arrangement and powerful lyrics.
‘Evanescent’ gets us in a nostalgic mood, thanks to lyrics and upbeat melodies that The Utopiates have conjured up.
‘The Path’ delivers vibrant vocals and an outstanding melody as the London band once again showcase their lyrical skills.
The Utopiates conclude their second album with ‘I Don’t Know What To Say,’ that brings melancholic vibes to life through a slow paced melody and gentle vocals which reflect the title of the track.
The sessions for the album started back in early 2024, so it feels amazing for them to get the final thing out and heard. Finally!!
They are blessed to be back doing it as a four-piece with Danny (Cubitt) now involved, they are still recording it all with Andy Hawkins at The Nave in Leeds (Yard Act, Working Men’s Club) and have really honed their sound.
From the outset they wanted to make a different record than the first and they made some calls to strip it all back, less guitars and no solos!
A bold move when they have a guitarist as great as Josh Redding clearly is, But they wanted to try something a little more in line with their post-punk counterparts and influences.
