Western Sydney songwriter Ryan Thomas has released his new single Hang Fire, a reflective pop rock track that blends indie influences with a nostalgic touch.
Thomas began working on the song in 2022 after finding a phrase in an old poetry book that belonged to his mother. After several versions and revisions, the track eventually developed into the version released today.
The song explores the idea of procrastination and the tendency to delay difficult decisions. As Thomas explains, it is about how putting something off rarely solves the problem and how it is usually better to face things head on.
Musically, Hang Fire sits somewhere between pop rock and alternative, drawing inspiration from artists like Sam Fender, The 1975 and Kings of Leon.
The single is available to stream now. Check it out below!
