Music Premiere: Corban Chapple’s ‘Maybe We’ll Make It’ is an impressive, fully realised debut

Music Crowns is proud to premiere this release from Australian-born, New York City-based producer-turned-artist Corban Chapple, who steps confidently into the spotlight with his debut EP, Maybe We’ll Make It. Entirely self-written, self-produced, and self-performed, the project showcases a multifaceted talent positioned at the crossroads of Alternative R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Pop, and Jazz. With a refined sonic palette and emotionally resonant storytelling, Chapple introduces himself not just as a creator behind the scenes, but as a compelling new voice in contemporary music.

After years of producing for other artists, including award-winning work recognised by the West Australian Music (WAM) Song of the Year awards, Chapple launched his solo career in 2023 with the R&B fusion single “Ordinary World.” In 2024, he relocated to New York City to pursue a master’s degree in songwriting and production at Berklee NYC, immersing himself in a vibrant creative landscape that would directly inspire his debut EP. Written during his first months in the city, Maybe We’ll Make It captures the emotional turbulence and artistic awakening of an artist navigating change.

Structured as a narrative-driven concept record, the EP unfolds as a prologue, three acts, and an epilogue. Across five tracks, Chapple unpacks themes of homesickness, jealousy, intimacy, non-confrontation, machismo, doubt, and instability, ultimately arriving at a central thesis of acceptance and chosen happiness in the face of uncertainty. The waterfall release began in October 2025 with “Let’s Not Talk About It,” followed by “Braid” in November, before 2026 opened strongly with “Porcelain,” featuring frequent collaborator August Igor Egholm (Igor). Together, these releases cement Chapple as a rising voice in modern R&B.

Each track offers a distinct emotional and sonic landscape. “Greener” is a poetic ballad examining post-breakup jealousy through an extended gardening metaphor, while “Let’s Not Talk About It” captures the tension of undefined relationships. “Braid” unfolds as a winding slow jam rich with layered harmonies and symbolic imagery, and “Porcelain (feat. Igor)” explores fragility, machismo, and self-sabotage through dual perspectives. The title track, “Maybe We’ll Make It,” provides a powerful sense of resolution, confronting instability with hope and intentionality.

Sonically and spiritually, Chapple’s work sits in conversation with artists such as Musiq Soulchild, D’Angelo, Smino, Anderson .Paak, Yebba, Robert Glasper, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Jordan Rakei, blending lush harmony, live instrumentation, hip-hop production, and emotionally direct lyricism. Marking his first EP release as a solo artist, the project is an ambitious statement, entirely written, produced, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Chapple, who plays keyboards, synths, guitar, bass, and drums across the record. Supported by collaborators including Timothy O’Grady Walshe, Nathaniel Ogren, Andrew Riezebeek, August Igor Egholm, Carlos Alvarez, Connor Melvin, and Tamara Kramar, Maybe We’ll Make It announces Corban Chapple as a fully realised artist building his own sonic world.

“What makes Corban special is his emotional precision,” says music publicist Danielle Holian, Decent Music PR. “He writes about jealousy, doubt, intimacy, and instability in a way that feels human, not performative. This EP is vulnerable without losing its edge, and that balance is powerful.”
