In a monumental announcement for alternative rock history, three founding members of the legendary 1980s Welsh rock band The Alarm will reunite on stage together for the first time in over two decades. The trio has scheduled two highly exclusive London concerts to celebrate the band’s enduring 45-year musical footprint, legacy, and spirit.
Performing under the banner ‘REUNION’, the exclusive shows will take place at London’s iconic venue The Garage on Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August 2026.
In addition to celebrating nearly five decades of generation-defining anthems, the weekend will serve as an emotional tribute to the life and prolific musical output of original frontman Mike Peters, following his passing in 2025. Rising indie-rock frontman Robert Latimer will step in as the guest vocalist to front the band for these historic performances.
Formed in North Wales, The Alarm emerged as one of the UK’s most influential and commercially successful rock exports of the 1980s, amassing a fiercely devoted international following through their stadium-ready hooks and relentless touring ethic. Over their career, the band achieved 16 UK Top 50 singles, sold over five million records worldwide, and penned rock staples including “Sixty Eight Guns” and “Rain In The Summertime.”
Their debut album, Declaration, soared to No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart upon its release. Renowned as a ferocious live act, The Alarm supported Queen at Wembley Stadium during their historic 1986 Magic Tour, shared arena stages with U2 and Bob Dylan, and headlined MTV’s globally televised “Spirit of ’86” concert at UCLA, marking one of the world’s earliest live satellite music broadcasts.
The upcoming London weekend marks the first time that founding members Dave Sharp (guitar), Eddie Macdonald (bass), and Nigel Twist (drums) have performed side by side since their VH1 appearance back in 2003, the final occasion on which they performed alongside Mike Peters.
Taking on vocal duties for this momentous weekend is Robert Latimer, the frontman of the fast-rising Coventry indie-rock band Candid. Celebrated for their brutal emotional honesty and anthemic, high-energy live shows, Candid has quickly cultivated a dedicated following, earning support from BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and making major festival appearances at the Isle of Wight Festival.
Latimer’s dynamic stage presence and authentic emotional connection to the band’s catalogue made him the unanimous choice to help guide the music into its next era.
“With Rob on board, we are very excited to see how this new relationship develops as we explore the idea of taking REUNION around the globe,” commented lead guitarist and founding member Dave Sharp.
The immersive REUNION weekend will feature special guest musicians, intimate fan meet-and-greet opportunities, and exclusive live Q&A sessions mapping out the band’s extraordinary 45-year journey.
In a joint statement, Sharp, Macdonald, and Twist emphasised the true purpose of the shows:
“REUNION is a historic event that will honour the life, legacy, and immense contribution that Mike Peters made to the music and spirit of The Alarm.”
