Shimi Goodman trades treading the boards for ultimate crossover anthem ‘Adagio’

Showstopping, curtain-raising, and carefully constructed, Adagio is a joyous return from London-based performer-come-artist Shimi Goodman. Embracing his roots in classical music and leaning into his work within musical theatre, Adagio is an astute crossover single with a glowing contemporary feel.

Shimi Goodman, supported by George Guerrette on production, performed by members of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, orchestrated by Shay Alone, and mixed by Grammy winner Justin Gray, has assembled a truly wonderful sonic journey. With sweeping strings, hypnotic horn sections, and a compelling vocal performance, Adagio is a true marvel.

“Adagio has been a labour of love for many years” explains Shimi, “I wanted to create something that honored the beauty of the original while telling my own story through it. I’ve realised a vision that had lived in my heart for a long time. I hope listeners don’t just hear a song, but experience an emotional journey. If, even for a few minutes, Adagio brings someone comfort, hope, or reminds them of someone they love, then it has achieved exactly what I dreamed it would.”

After a two-year break from commercial releases, Adagio represents a new phase of creative vision from Shimi Goodman. Having taken to the stage internationally in the likes of Dirty Dancing, Chicago, Evita, Bombay Dreams, and standing ovations either side of the pond, Shimi’s love for the arts shines bright in Adagio’s bones.
