Lauren Amber is a singer-songwriter and has performed at many open mic events playing acoustic guitar or piano and singing.
2025 saw the release of her empowering debut single ‘Stronger,’ which features a gentle guitar arrangement and vocals that begin with a soft quality to them but also pack an emotional punch at key points during the song.
The track achieved over 2,000 streams.
Last week saw the young artist unveil her new single ‘Lines,’ that radiates with mellow vibes and the unique vocal style of Lauren Amber and as the track progresses we are treated to catchier beats.
The track achieved first place in her age category in an international competition.
Lauren Amber took time out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions for us:
1) When did your musical journey begin?
My musical journey begun when I listened to music in the car as a baby!
My parents exposed me to a lot of great artists from an early age and I think that really contributed to building my love of music.
In terms of playing, I started taking piano lessons at around six years old and started playing guitar at nine, and both are still going strong!
I write songs using both of these instruments, and I released my debut single ‘Stronger’ in September last year.
My first live performance was in a neighbourhood road fete at about 11, and since then I have played various charity open mics, and regularly play at JOM Junior Open Mic.
2) How did you get involved with Rising Voices?
I got involved with Rising Voices because Gemma Schito, who I know from playing open mics through JOM, messaged me through Instagram asking me if I would like to get involved and be a part of it, I am very grateful that she thought of me!
When I saw that Rising Voices was supporting War Child UK, I thought it would be a great opportunity to play because my most recently released single ‘Lines,’ which came out just before the Rising Voices event, is about how unfair it is that ordinary people, including innocent children, are affected by decisions made by leaders of countries that draw countries into conflict, which ties in to the great work that War Child do.
3) Are there any releases or events in the pipeline?
My next gig is at JOM Junior Open Mic in Herne Hill, at the venue Off The Cuff on Sunday 26th July.

When not performing, you will still catch me playing or writing music – whether that be playing my guitar of an evening or learning piano pieces for my Diploma, because music is my hobby too and what I love to do! I spend a lot of time listening to music (no surprise there!) and I like going to concerts to watch other artists.
