Canadian electronic pioneer, DJ and producer Aliiias is back with ‘Numb’, an immense 13-track album that is the pinnacle of dedication to sonic craft. Shifting between neatly flowing mid-tempo tracks, like opener Lifeline, Sleep and Let Me Go, to full-force upstream anthems like Santa Fe, Good Girl and Notice Me, Aliiias’s prowess and virtuosity come elegantly to the fore.
This elegance is best shown by the album’s title track, which closes the record, complete with reflective synthwork and spellbinding instrumentation, and gospel-choir vocals.
“This album reflects on two years of progression and leveling up. Each project has its own time and place to belong. Numb represents the past couple of years of struggles for me intimately,” explains Aliiias.
“There doesn’t necessarily have to be a point to it for the listener. It’s more about the feeling and the stage/chapter that it falls into. I want the listener to make it whatever they want it to be.It is what it is, and it fits where I was at the time perfectly.”
Already recognised as a name on the global electronic music circuit, Aliiias has featured on SiriusXM’s Radio Wonderland and delivered guest mixes for platforms like Playground Radio. With Numb, he continues to challenge the limits of modern electronic sound, marking a pivotal moment as he steps into a new phase of his artistic evolution.
Despite its title, this 13-track LP is an emotive rollercoaster of floor-filling anthems and pauses for thought.
