High Fashion Club are not here to behave. The Örebro-based skatepunk band are bringing their own brand of “nerd-punk” to the summer with “Tom & Jerry,” a cowbell-powered new single. Somewhere between sugar-rush pop vocals and the full-throttle rush of skatepunk, the track is a chaotic little bundle of energy, and exactly the kind of song that makes sitting still feel like a bad idea.
Made up of three guys, one girl and one other, High Fashion Club pull together backgrounds from Sweden, Australia and Spain, creating a sound that refuses to sit neatly inside one box. Their skatepunk foundations are obvious, but pop-inspired vocals give the band a melodic edge, while the playful approach to their music keeps everything feeling fresh. “Tom & Jerry” is the perfect snapshot: infectious, irreverent and unapologetically fun.
“Tom & Jerry is all about FUN,” bassist Robin says. The song builds its momentum through “layers upon layers of groovy bass and percussion,” eventually piling into what he describes as the “raw power” of the chorus. Singer Marcel agrees, explaining that although fun is baked into the band’s approach, “Tom & Jerry radiates that the most.” Consider it an invitation to forget your dignity for three minutes and throw yourself into the crowd.
It’s an attitude that has already earned the band plenty of attention. Tritone’s Marielle Tengström calls them “superfluously charming and high-octane skatepunk with great vocals,” while Rockklassiker’s Janne Innanfors says they make you want to be “a misfit in their crowd and just jump, jump, jump.” Jona Tee of H.E.A.T. & New Horizon has praised their “strong, memorable name” and “equally strong song titles,” adding that the timing feels right for a revival. The hype, it seems, is already gathering pace.
And there’s plenty more to come. After taking home Rockflödet’s Unsigned Artist of the Year in 2025 for “Misfits in the Crowd,” High Fashion Club are heading into a summer of shows, including a prestigious appearance at Skogsröjet in late July and a hometown finale at Live at Heart, Sweden’s biggest showcase week. With “Tom & Jerry”, High Fashion Club are proving that punk can still be loud, weird, melodic, and ridiculously fun.
