Chateau is the solo project of Henry Smith, a UK based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and self-produced recording artist.
Inspired by an escape from the city to the suburb and his personal mantra to nonchalantly navigate through life, Henry began teaching himself home recording, using whatever instruments he had lying around and crafting each song in the moment.
The result is music that is lo-fi, eclectic and whimsical, inviting listeners to follow their muse through genres, moods and creative curiosities.
‘Man Of The Country’ showcases this musical style perfectly with a lively guitar arrangement which then blends perfectly with beautiful vocal harmonies from Chateau and the additional guitar featured towards the end of the track makes the song sound that little bit more magical.
This track features on Chateau’s debut album Sometimes We Wander.
Written, performed and produced in Henry’s bedroom, it seemed only natural to name the project Chateau.
A fitting epithet for his bedroom pop outfit and the cozy analogue spirits that guide him.
