Heartache meets hedonism in this larger-than-life, ready-to-ignite pop instant classic. Of course, we’re referring to Envi Jordan’s latest venture. WooHoo features intense synths, a neatly defined pop vocal, and a truly relentless nature, which is a departure from the exploration of loneliness felt on the previous outing, Somebody To Love. This time, WooHoo is carefree, timeless, and maximalist.
Envi explains, “The title “WooHoo” is a reference to the euphemism of having sexual intercourse in the “Sims” game series, sort of an “if you know, you know” thing. “WooHoo” is about being in a space where you no longer care about looking for love… You know that guy might be trouble, but it doesn’t concern you because you don’t want anything serious with him anyway… by this point your heart is guarded and you just wanna have fun.”
“After all, summer is for enjoyment, not sadness. For me, this song is an escape from a torture chamber of overthinking. Dance music is great at helping you get your mind off of things and reset your energy. “WooHoo” will be featured on my self-titled debut album “Envi”, which I’m very excited to release later this year or early next year.
With a self-choreographed video following later this month, Envi Jordan is hands-on and wades knee-deep in the pool of artists vying for the top spot for the club-pop resurgence. Drawing on Janet Jackson, Kyle, Prince, and Madonna as inspirations, WooHoo is undoubtedly a track cruising in its own lane.
