‘All I wanted, I forgot’ sees Pretty Average deliver a vibrant and mesmerizing intro, which then leads to lively riffs

Berlin-based Pretty Average channels raw distortion and unapologetic storytelling into a sharp-edged, live-driven sound.

The band’s frontwoman Candy Bassas delivers songs from a female perspective on identity, social rejection and generational uncertainty — her rough, unfiltered voice cutting through waves of gritty guitars.

Their new album The Highs and Lows of Being Pretty Average captures the spirit of a band built for the stage — direct, urgent and fiercely alive.

‘All I Wanted, I forgot’ sees Pretty Average deliver a vibrant and mesmerizing intro, which then leads to lively riffs, lo-fi / minimal sounding vocals and grungy melodies.

Almost one year after their last digital release, they unveil ‘All I wanted, I forgot.’

A lot has happened and they have worked very hard to put a new band together to present Pretty Average as it always should have been.

The band made a very successful tour around Europe in May, giving them the energy to start writing new material and regroup with the current album.

The album was intended to see the light of day in 2025 but finding the right musicians to perform it as well as more external points such as disagreements with the band’s former label made it impossible for us to fully focus on releasing a new album.
