BoolaBoom have released an effortlessly energetic new single, The Cork collective dropping ‘Too Much’. Bringing together big band jazz and live house and techno with a team of 22 people.

An electrifying momentum with a strong brass and saxophone section, big wobbling bass lines, punchy drums and natural vocal layers is provided for a three-and-a-half-minute dancefloor invite. Amongst the bright array of instrumentation forms a darker, pulsating arrangement. Overall, the track has the same physicality it’s two most influential genre sounds have, multiplied together for a unique sound.

Alongside the audio comes a visual aspect that sums up the energy the sound brings. Lots of instruments, smiling faces, with an added element of strobe lighting cut amongst the dance.

Band leader Darragh O’Connor had this to say on the track, “Too Much explores the bounds of temptation and excess. How much of something is really enough? Do we really believe ourselves when we say we’ll stop before we cross a dangerous line, or can we keep it going for a while longer without any consequences?

We might know we are nearing a point-of-no-return, but we can convince ourselves that instead of crossing the line that we thought was fixed, we can move it, so there is room for more.”

Musicians from across Ireland, Brazil, France, Chile, the UK and New Zealand, 12 horns and 10 samba drummers, make up the mainstage force that is BoolaBoom. They’ve received widespread support, including from iconic names such as Kerri Chandler. With a collective energy unlike any other, the support only grows.
