DJ Sparadise and ANI turn nostalgia into euphoria on ‘See U Again’

Nostalgia usually looks backwards. On ‘See U Again’, DJ Sparadise and ANI find a way to make it point forward.

Built around the anticipation of reconnecting with somebody after time apart, the collaboration takes memories of late-night drives and seemingly endless summers and transforms them into euphoric dance-pop. Rather than dwelling on absence, ‘See U Again’ focuses on the excitement of knowing that distance might finally be coming to an end.

It’s a simple emotional premise, but an effective one for dance music. Shimmering synths and warm chord progressions create an immediate sense of nostalgia before a driving deep-house bassline and crisp electronic percussion push everything towards the dancefloor. The past might provide the emotional spark, but the production refuses to stand still.

ANI’s vocal is crucial to maintaining that balance. Her soaring performance gives the track its emotional centre, preventing its polished electronic surroundings from becoming anonymous.

“When ANI recorded her vocals, everything changed,” DJ Sparadise explains. “She gave the song its heart.”

He’s right to identify that distinction. Plenty of dance-pop can manufacture euphoria; the harder trick is giving listeners a reason to feel it. ANI supplies that human element, turning the track’s sizeable chorus into something closer to genuine release.

Produced using a mixture of analogue synthesisers and digital production, ‘See U Again’ sits comfortably between melodic house and mainstream pop. References to artists including Zedd, Robin Schulz, Lady Gaga, Ava Max and Bebe Rexha make sense, particularly in the record’s determination to prioritise melody alongside club momentum.

Sparadise describes wanting something capable of moving between “chill playlists to festival stages and club sets”, and that versatility is evident. Atmospheric textures give the quieter passages enough breathing room while the chorus aims considerably bigger, allowing the track to shift naturally from headphones to late-night crowds.

That accessibility feels particularly appropriate given Sparadise’s history. Previous releases have brought Italian radio chart success and an appearance on the Official UK Club Chart, while his productions have received support from figures including Armin van Buuren, Lost Frequencies and Cédric Gervais. ‘See U Again’ doesn’t abandon those dancefloor foundations; it simply pushes the pop songwriting further towards the foreground.

The result captures something dance music has always been particularly good at expressing: anticipation becoming release.

‘See U Again’ turns the ache of missing somebody into the exhilaration of knowing you might soon be together again. Glossy, melodic and unabashedly uplifting, DJ Sparadise and ANI prove nostalgia doesn’t always have to leave you wishing you could go backwards.

Sometimes it can make you desperate for whatever happens next.
