More than twenty years into his music journey, Dr. M. unveils Follow Me, a nine-track album that brings years of writing and persistence into focus. Working with friend and vocalist Maria Moon, he blends pop foundations, 1980s influences, and excursions into progressive rock.
“(Anyone Can Be A) Hero” centers on an uplifting refrain, with glowing saxophone lines. “Blinded By Love” puts melody at the forefront, while “Welcome to Babylon” stretches across seven minutes, giving the album space to explore a more theatrical direction. Together, the songs reflect a musician pursuing scale, variety, and expression through production and songwriting.
Behind Dr. M. is Antti Honkasalo, whose record collection has helped shape his tastes and his desire to encourage others through music. His education has taken him to several locations, including his hometown of Paimio in Finland.
Follow Me draws those influences into a release built through determination, with Moon’s performances connecting its different strands. For Honkasalo, completing the album marks the culmination of a lengthy process and a chance to share his vision.
