This highly combustible single comes from the southern rock five-piece The Fever Dreams, following on the coattails of Hairclip Things. This time, it’s Fuel, their newest riff-driven anthem depicting romantic fallouts.
Discussing the release, the band explain:
“Fuel is comfortably our heaviest track so far, it’s pretty angry. It’s your “two-fingers up to the ex” which we lyrically developed into a kind of arrogant goodbye, with a hint of innuendo, if you spot it. We brought it to the rest of the band and this song took its full shape from then on. Jake (drummer) put his twist into a double-time break down section, and Will (bass) found that descending hook in the chorus as only he knows how with his melodic writing style.”
Direct, angry and excessive, of course, it’s what The Fever Dreams do best. The band is thinking bigger, and bringing their live appeal truly into the studio.
