Mali releases new video for ‘Saviour Complex’

Pop earworm chorus lines meet stellar production, both sonically and visually, via Mali’s gloriously charming new video for Saviour Complex, from her upcoming album release. The video brings freshness to a single already making waves, with a host of Spotify editorial additions in the bag already, and following a stellar 2026 thus far – having released Mellow and Forever already this year.

With the album Where Was I on the horizon, Mali discussed the upcoming release.

“Where Was I? is an album about the years that don’t announce themselves as important until they’re over” Mali explains.  “I wrote these songs after moving back to Mumbai in early 2022. I’d imagined I’d be returning to the life I’d left behind, but it felt more like arriving halfway through a conversation everyone else had been having without me. It was unsettling at first, but it also forced me to begin again. Somewhere between early-morning flights, empty apartments, old friendships, new routines and a lot of second-guessing, I realised the songs were all circling the same idea: life is constantly asking us to become someone new, usually before we’ve had a chance to say goodbye to who we were.”

Having opened for Ed Sheeran, and played a host of industry showcases such as SXSW and Music Matters Singapore, as well as Wembley Arena and Lollapallooza, Mali comes off the back of supporting American rock titans Foo Fighters.

“I can’t begin to describe how surreal it is to be supporting the Foo Fighters in India. They’re a band I’ve known all my life, and I became an even bigger fan as I discovered more of their music in my late teens and early twenties.”
