Indie-folk singer-songwriter NAVINA has unveiled new single ‘Rain (Overcoming Anxiety)’, a track that is built on a submission to vulnerability, growing a steady sense of strength as the atmosphere swells with emotion.
As it begins, NAVINA’s voice is soft, with long notes offering foundation to slowly introduced layers of harmony. The arpeggiated acoustics blossom into momentous percussion, bright keys and synths. Each addition is perfectly timed to advance the intensity unnoticed, making the climax feel like an almighty release of cinematic proportions. Hazy and delicate and authoritative all at the same time.
In the artist’s words, “This song came from a place of surrender. In the chaos of anxiety, I found that instead of fighting, there is peace in letting go, trusting in something greater than myself. It’s a song about weathering the storm and realising you’re never truly alone. When the sea of anxiousness is overwhelming, trust in something outside of myself shows that the sea is just made up of the rain, and anxiety can be overcome.”
A song of momentum has arrived after a few years away from music releases. Nonetheless, NAVINA’s talents have been picked up for radio and playlist support across the globe, known as a thoughtful and distinctive indie-folk voice from previous releases.
