Australian-hailing singer-songwriter BillWalshGuitar is back with his latest seven-track album, which reflects the companionship and teamwork of his career to date. It’s this songwriting prowess that leaps to the fore in this record, despite writing formally only two years ago.
“The songs on Old and New were written over a very long period” explains Bill, “the ‘old songs’ are almost a product of a different life before travel and fatherhood, whilst the ‘new songs’ have been very recently written and touch on recent personal and political events.”
Spanning just over 25 minutes, the album radiates warmth and a classic songwriting style that fits a commercial brief. Beyond his own music, Walsh credits the strength of his local creative community for helping shape this latest chapter. Supported by fellow musicians and mentors, he has embraced collaboration while continuing to mentor emerging artists himself, reflecting a commitment to fostering creativity that extends well beyond his own recordings.
