New Orleans-based singer-songwriter ATARAH announces the release
of her new single, “Our Last Sixty N9ne,” out September 25 as an
independent release. Produced by Joe Hertler, the provocative track
explores loneliness, desire, and the complicated intimacy of a
relationship coming to an end. Blending vulnerable songwriting with a
sensual, emotionally charged sound, “Our Last Sixty N9ne” captures the
longing for one final moment of physical closeness in the face of an
inevitable goodbye.
“At its core, “Our Last Sixty N9ne” is a song about loneliness. It’s about
knowing something is ending and still wanting one more night, one more
moment of intimacy, before you have to let it go. There’s humor and
sexuality in the title, but the feeling underneath it is much more
vulnerable.” — ATARAH
Artist Bio:
ATARAH is a New Orleans-based singer-songwriter whose music pairs candid, intimate
storytelling with a willingness to say the uncomfortable part out loud. Her songs explore
relationships, desire, loneliness, identity, and the messy process of figuring yourself out in
real time. After introducing her recorded work with debut single “My Own Way,” ATARAH
continues to build a body of work rooted in vulnerability, humor, and emotionally direct
songwriting. Her original song “JAP” was submitted to NPR’s 2026 Tiny Desk Contest.
Her latest single, “Our Last Sixty N9ne,” out September 25, pushes that vulnerability into
more intimate territory. Produced by Joe Hertler, the song uses sexuality and playfulness to
tell a deeper story about loneliness and the desire for closeness at the end of a relationship.
Provocative on the surface but vulnerable at its core, the track reflects ATARAH’s evolving
creative direction: writing without sanitizing the complicated, contradictory feelings
underneath.
