British-Korean, London-based artist and producer Prince Li returns with his latest single, ‘Stitched In My Eyes’, a bittersweet indie-acoustic confession about the lingering impact of a connection that was over almost as quickly as it began.

Blending intimate singer-songwriter sensibilities with Prince Li’s characteristically sharp lyricism, ‘Stitched In My Eyes’ finds beauty in the aftermath of a fleeting romance. Rather than dwelling solely on heartbreak, the track captures the strange, almost impossible feeling of meeting someone and immediately imagining an entire future with them, even when reality ultimately has other plans.

Prince Li’s music occupies a borderless space between indie and singer-songwriter traditions, shaped by formative influences including The Beatles, Radiohead, Mitski and King Krule. His writing is driven by close observations of his surroundings and an instinct for turning moments of existential unease into sharply drawn, emotionally resonant songs.

The story behind ‘Stitched In My Eyes’ began with an old demo. A friend unexpectedly sent Prince Li the unfinished recording, insisting that he “had to finish this gem.” Originally written before he had the romantic experiences or vocabulary to complete it, the song suddenly found its missing pieces following a painfully short-lived connection.

“Stitched In My Eyes” naturally came together within just two days of production, with the timing of its completion mirroring the fleeting relationship that inspired it. What began as an abandoned idea became one of Prince Li’s most personal recordings, its understated arrangement leaving room for the emotional weight of the lyrics to breathe.

At the heart of the track is an almost irrational sense of certainty, the feeling that a brief encounter could somehow have been the person destined to share an entire lifetime with you. Prince Li describes it as “a rare kind of faith that a brief meeting with someone was the person I’d pay taxes with in every other life.”

The result is a tender portrait of romantic possibility, disappointment and the strange ways unfinished stories can remain with us. ‘Stitched In My Eyes’ doesn’t attempt to turn a short-lived connection into something it wasn’t; instead, it embraces the bittersweet fantasy of what it might have been.

Following the early success of his debut single ‘Feel the Fall’, Prince Li continues to carve out a distinctive place within London’s singer-songwriter landscape. With ‘Stitched In My Eyes’, he offers another glimpse into an artist unafraid to find poetry in the uncomfortable spaces between reality and imagination.
