Daydream is the latest single from duo Stolen Days, off the back of their debut release, Butterfly. This time, their latest offering, Daydream, is a looser, almost summer venture compared to its counterpart. With astute production, horn lines and carefully crafted songwriting, Stolen Days have met their ambitious debut with a glorious follow-on.
Discussing the release, Stolen Days say,
“This song was really fun to create. We got to weave together a classic dusty hip-hop sound with indie pop guitars and boom-bap drums. It’s the kind of combination you’ll hear throughout the upcoming album. The song is about escapism and sinking into a daydream, but in a positive way…just vibing out in your own little bubble.”
Known for blurring genre boundaries, Daydream pushes the pair, Dub Sonata and Alex Fitts, forward. Drawing equally from dream pop and hip-hop while leaving space for experimentation, the pair bring considerable production pedigree, having individually worked with artists including SZA, Kid Cudi, Sage Francis and R.A. the Rugged Man. The track hints towards an exciting close to 2026.
