SUKANYA and Arashkha drop new 3-track EP, Shakti, Volume 3

Arashkha Khalatbari and Sukanya Chattopadhyay collide to release their latest offering, Shakti, the third EP volume, complete with three tracks, that at its core is a uniquely experimental offering. It ties sounds of Indian tradition, electronic flair, and sonics from Bangladesh, Lithuania, and Reunion Island.

Discussing the release, Arashka explains:

With tracks like Devotional Song From an Urban Ruin, Sweet Surrender, and The Eternal Lily, we explored a darker, more urban and intense sonic world. One inspired by the destructive and regenerative energy of Kali. This collaboration is only evolving further, with future projects becoming even more rhythmic, immersive, and emotionally charged. Despite the distance between us, Sukanya and I share a deep creative connection, and we look forward to continuing this artistic journey together across India, Réunion, and beyond.

With Arashka being a composer-come-sociologist of French-Iranian descent,  and Sukanya being a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, trained classically and syncs with Amazon to boot – this is a fiersome pairing.

Discussing themes of rebirth, femininity, and transformation, this EP is a truly immersive work that needs your urgent attention.
