Rising independent artist Tilly Valentine releases ‘Taxi Ride,’ an alt-pop ode to showing up for the people you love.
Set against warm synths and hazy soundscapes, Tilly presents the late-night soundtrack to driving through the city.
‘Taxi Ride’ sees Tilly Valentine deliver gentle melodies, vibrant vocals and beautiful harmonies as she conjures up this reflective track.
Written alongside Kaity Rae and Joe Dolman, Tilly wrote the song for her best friend, after watching her navigate a difficult period in her life.
That friendship sits at the heart of the accompanying music video, featuring both Tilly and the friend who made the song exist in the first place.
Tilly shares “There’s an unspoken intimacy to platonic love, it’s a personal promise. Some friendships are every bit as deep and life-changing. When you’re navigating the worst parts of life, you need someone who makes you feel safe enough to fall apart.”
Hailed for “truly developing her own sound” (Wonderland) and championed by Glastonbury as “distinctly British and refreshing,” the Oxfordshire-born, London based artist walks a tightrope between new discovery and mass appeal.
