Southern California rock outfit TYBIRD return with “Out of My Mind”, a hard-hitting new single that captures the band’s raw energy, big melodies and unapologetic approach to rock.
Fronted by Ty Morgan, the track opens with acoustic guitar before breaking into driving instrumentation and a powerful guitar solo. The result is gritty and energetic, while still leaving plenty of room for the emotion behind the song to come through.
Written by Morgan in his bedroom during his senior year of high school, “Out of My Mind” was born from the pressure he felt to follow a traditional path rather than pursue music. That frustration became the foundation for a song about trusting your instincts and having the courage to choose your own direction.
It also became one of the first songs TYBIRD recorded together as a band, giving the track an added sense of identity. Morgan’s vocals sit naturally against the heavier instrumentation, while the live-band chemistry gives the single an authentic rock feel.
The track was mixed by Brian Scheuble, whose credits include Mötley Crüe, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks and Jon Bon Jovi, adding another layer of experience to the band’s growing sound.
TYBIRD have already begun building a dedicated following, with their fans known as the “Birdies”. Previous releases have surpassed 35,000 streams, received local radio support in Laguna Beach and earned reposts from Instagram accounts reaching more than one million followers.
“Out of My Mind” is a confident step forward for a young band embracing the risks of doing things their own way. Raw, melodic and driven by genuine emotion, it is a track that makes its message clear: sometimes the only way forward is to trust yourself and go all in.
