Garrett Anthony Rice announces debut Ireland tour ahead of ambitious ‘Equinox’ album release

Irish singer-songwriter Garrett Anthony Rice is set to take to the stage for a newly announced run of spring and summer dates across Ireland and Northern Ireland, marking his inaugural regional tour. Presented by IAD Isotope Agency Dublin, the series will see Rice perform in Belfast, Dublin, and Drogheda, beginning on 20 March and running through 3 July 2026, alongside a pair of intimate solo acoustic songwriter nights.

The tour arrives as Rice builds momentum toward the release of his forthcoming double album, Equinox, following a steady stream of singles, including the deeply personal “In The Darkness With The Spirit of the Lake (a family tragedy).” While listeners have so far experienced the evolution of the record through studio releases, these live dates will mark the first time the material is tested in front of an audience, where songs take on new life beyond the recording process.

From March of the Mods at Belfast’s Oh Yeah Music Centre to headline sets at Dublin venues including The Bernard Shaw and Lost Lane, the tour places Rice in spaces known for nurturing emerging talent. These performances offer audiences a chance to hear new material shaped not only by studio intent but by the immediacy and unpredictability of a live room.

The run follows a growing catalogue of releases that hint at the scope of Equinox, a project already generating industry buzz. The album, an ambitious 18-track double record, has been described by early listeners as a potential standout in contemporary Irish music. It follows Rice’s 2023 debut under the alias (i) CONSULT, Reflections Part II, the very best of……, which reached audiences in 93 countries and attracted the attention of acclaimed producer Chris Potter, known for his work with The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, U2, and The Verve.

Among the early highlights from Equinox is “My Sons,” a track written for Peggy Gallagher, mother of Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, during a period of estrangement between the brothers. Another forthcoming single, “Property (An Ode To Roger Syd Barrett, a genius, 1946–infinity),” pays tribute to Syd Barrett, aiming to reframe his legacy as a pioneering and influential songwriter rather than a tragic figure.

With Equinox set for release later this year, the upcoming tour represents a pivotal moment in Rice’s artistic journey, where recorded work meets the energy of live performance, and songs begin to evolve in real time before an audience.
