Kicking off the new year, Maggie Tra returns with a new non-toxic acid dance single ‘Control’ exploring themes of trauma and mental health.
A reflection that comes as an afterimage of the way things could be and how they’ve been before. ‘Control’ delves into the patterns humans have with control, the addiction between wanting it, yet ultimately understanding that trying to control situations ends up being the very downfall in the artists’ life.
The track sees Tra’s signature thumping kick, a roaring Roland TB-03 bass accompanied with her sultry vocals making it a non-toxic acid dance banger that weaves in and out of control.
On the track, Tra says “It’s a resounding and confident tone that matches my optimistic and often unfiltered emotions,”
“Sometimes I get drunk on the power of having control, but then realising ultimately it’s one of my biggest faults. Growing up in a traumatic household made me want to control everything so that I never felt pain. However, in the end, we don’t have the power to control anything. This track is about learning to let go of it,”
A little more playful than Tra’s other offerings, ‘Control’ sees the artist explore different sounds and realms to bring her thoughts into production.
