Based somewhere in the Southeastern United States, singer/songwriter, Eduardo, is tackling an interesting topic with his debut album, Cruising A Melody. While it sounds like a lesser known Beach Boys title, Cruising A Melody is the artist’s literal deep dive into songwriting. Initially, his plan was to release this debut in 2020. But we know how that story goes. Plans for that year didn’t go so well.
But here we are in 2023 and the record is finally getting released. New single, “For A While” has a smooth, indie style, not unlike the band, Idaho. But his vocals are much lighter than Jeff Martin. “For A While” follows a songwriter struggling with his craft…
Another beat another rhyme
Another little silly lullaby
Another place to take my mind
For a while
Until he sees an easier way out.
Excuse me sir
I need your help
Could you write this for me, I’ll never tell
But you know that
I’ll owe you the world
Where his first two singles (“Time Machine”, “Sunrise”) were more about the songwriting process, “For A While” seems to be aimed right at musicians that hire out songwriters. It’s not such a bad gig. Perhaps, Eduardo should consider being a songwriter for hire. But that’s not today’s main topic. “For A While” is a great ‘middle of the playlist’ type song. It’s always going to sound good on your road trip mix. “For A While” is out this Friday.
Cruising A Melody releases the 22nd of September.
