Aaron Marlowe will be releasing his new single “Heroes” on June 23, 2023. Aaron will also be giving his fans a new music video to accompany the tune. This song chronicles the disappointing feeling of being let down by those you look up to most. A song about broken promises, Aaron expertly portrays the struggle of learning to trust others again. With the opening lyrics, “Teenage girl of only sixteen/Looks at all her old memories/Thinks all she has seen/Are promises broken,” the video reveals a young woman sitting on the couch, holding back tears. Reminiscent of young Johnny Cash and 80’s classic rock, the video goes back and forth between the woman and Aaron narrating the story, singing and playing guitar in black and white with dark sunglasses on. The black and white filter is clearly purposeful as it demonstrates the way color can be ripped from our world when promises are broken and hope is diminished. An honest and true story, this stripped down video does not sugar coat the frustration and anger that inspired this single, but represents it authentically.
Aaron Marlowe has been playing guitar for 25 years, but he recently broke into the Nashville music scene. His music is a love letter to classic rock bands of the seventies and eighties, with a sort of funk twist to set him apart from the rest. His first EP “Ladies and Gentlemen…” released in 2020. Just like the rest of his music, it displays the dynamic way he can blend country and rock. Listeners will find songs that fit the traditional rock mold, as well as some with a strong country influence as they listen to hits like “Bottom of The Shot Glass” and “That Old Countryside.” Aaron Marlowe is a prolific writer and his lyrical compositions blur the musical genre lines. He truly fits the “singer-songwriter” mold with a heavy lean toward his love of classic rock and classic country music.
Marlowe made the move to Nashville right at the beginning of the pandemic. He spent his days writing and cultivating his album “Resurrection” released in January 2023. Marlowe will be releasing a waterfall of singles off of the LP along with music videos as we head into the summer of 2023.
