Music Crowns is proud to premiere “MISERICORDIA,” the powerful and emotionally dense new single from Blue Capricorn, created in collaboration with Dallas-based avant-electronic producer Black Taffy. The release marks the first glimpse of Blue Capricorn’s forthcoming new EP, set to arrive in early 2026.
Translating to mercy, “MISERICORDIA” dives into themes of inner reckoning, healing, and the difficult work of forgiving oneself. Built on whispered vocal improvisations, spectral sonic elements, and an atmosphere thick with tension and vulnerability, the track moves slowly but purposefully—like a confession in the dark. While its mood is undeniably shadowed, Blue Capricorn emphasizes that hope remains at its core, “No matter how many missteps you encounter in your lifetime, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel for yourself and others in your life, and vice versa.”
The collaboration began organically, after Blue Capricorn discovered Black Taffy’s unique blend of ambient production, new-age textures, and beat-driven experimentation. Seeking a fresh creative perspective for the new project, he reached out—and immediately found artistic chemistry. “I was sent a couple of rough sketches to choose from, and the instrumental you hear in the song was the one that spoke to me the most. I wanted the song to be a fusion of our worlds—my intention was to find how I could complement his sound.”
The track was finalized with the help of Dallas engineer Alex Bhore, whose meticulous mixing sharpened the atmosphere and emotional pull at the heart of the track.
Beyond its sonic identity, “MISERICORDIA” is deeply tied to Blue Capricorn’s personal journey. Created during a period of therapy, introspection, and emotional rebuilding, the songwriting process became a space where past wounds could finally be addressed and processed. “This song is a letter to my current self from the best version of myself. ‘Have mercy. Don’t be hard on yourself,’ he would simply say.”
The result is one of Blue Capricorn’s most affecting works to date—a cinematic blend of darkwave ambience, downtempo pulse, and expressive electronic experimentation. “MISERICORDIA” feels less like a song and more like an encounter: a moment suspended between pain and progress, grief and awakening.
With this premiere, Blue Capricorn steps into a new era—one shaped by honesty, artistic evolution, and the courage to face one’s own reflection.
