Written during a period of profound personal change, including sobriety, heartbreak and self-reassessment, Songs of Noah Villeneuve unfolds as an intimate journey through love, loss, memory and renewal. Across its carefully crafted tracklist, Villeneuve navigates the complexities of emotional dependency and self-discovery with striking vulnerability, pairing confessional lyricism with warm, organic instrumentation and memorable melodies. The result is a debut that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.
Having spent years performing within the UK’s underground music scene, Villeneuve arrives with a fully formed artistic identity, drawing subtle inspiration from the likes of The National, Leonard Cohen, Bleachers and Elliott Smith while carving out a sound that is unmistakably his own. Produced, mixed and mastered by Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, the record features Villeneuve on guitar, bass, piano and vocals, alongside contributions from drummer Billy Golding, pedal steel player David Klinke Jørgensen and violinist Jessica Roch.
