Music Premiere: SUUNCAAT unveils ‘Signs’ — An experimental pop ritual of sound and shadow

Music Crowns is proud to premiere “Signs”, the latest release from Montreal-based artist, producer, and filmmaker SUUNCAAT — a boundary-shattering experimental pop odyssey that fuses ritual, tragedy, and electronic ecstasy into one breathtaking experience.

Renowned for merging hyperpop’s emotional volatility with classical precision and cinematic storytelling, SUUNCAAT continues to redefine what pop feels like. On “Signs,” she constructs a world that is both intimate and transcendent — built from earworm melodies, haunted synths, and eruptive drum & bass breaks that swell and collapse like a living entity.

At its core, “Signs” revisits the myth of the “golden violin child,” a recurring figure in SUUNCAAT’s artistic mythology. The track meditates on the trauma of early giftedness — the burden of purity and the thin line between reverence and persecution.

“As a very young child, I was for being some kind of musical prodigy, and was forced to play violin too young at an unhealthy level, which gave me postural injuries and essentially broke my body,” SUUNCAAT shares. “I now carry those injuries like a kind of stigmata — the ‘sign.’ The violin enters in the second part of the song as both a weapon and a wound.”

Lyrically, “Signs” examines the seductive, dangerous allure of being deified: “Night time mirror eyes go everywhere / gold child you’re the sign we’ve been waiting / don’t you realize you’re god, you decide.”

The track also marks a new creative milestone — SUUNCAAT’s first fully self-mixed release, underscoring her expanding artistic independence and emotional range.

Accompanying the song is a haunting visual counterpart, co-directed by SUUNCAAT and long-time collaborator Alexia “Rebie” Lecours-Cormier. In the video, Rebie embodies SUUNCAAT’s shadow — a spectral reflection inspired by Hexadecimal from ReBoot — part demon, part mimic. Set against moody forests, mountain peaks, and surreal open fields, the film draws from Jodorowsky’s mysticism, early-internet surrealism, and baroque performance art, creating a hypnotic visual exorcism that deepens the song’s mythology.

With “Signs,” SUUNCAAT delivers not just a song but a sound ritual — a fearless fusion of pain, divinity, and liberation that transforms vulnerability into transcendence.

Watch and listen to “Signs” — premiering exclusively on Music Crowns — and step into SUUNCAAT’s world of sonic mythology and emotional metamorphosis.
