Pyrenees Love Triangle makes his debut with EP Babylon crafting a listening experience that feels fluid, immersive and emotionally layered, drawing the listener into a world that sonically expands over time. As the EP goes on, there are a span of emotions and textures creating a continuous atmosphere.
The motion within each track is what makes for a great listening experience as there’s no repetition. Although it’s not hard to distinguish the core of the project, its being unpredictable in terms of mood and textures encourages the listener to remain engaged whilst it unfolds. Balancing moments of intensity and restraint gives the EP a flowing rhythm capturing tension and release.
The emotion in the is also equally fluid exploring themes of dislocation, desire and overstimulation although there are moments where what is being expressed feels otherworldly. Rather than defining what is being said lyrically there are times where the instrumentation speaks for itself, leaving room for interpretation.
What could be described as a sonic fusion of digital and analog elements, the synth work enhances the EP’s atmosphere without ever overwhelming the ear. Also the shift between textures and mood feel intentional, not chaotic, contributing to a well thought out sense of movement throughout. Instead, it subtly reinforces its hypnotic quality, helping to define what makes the project stand out.
Babylon functions as a complete sonic world, prioritizing emotional texture and atmosphere over traditional structure. It invites the listener to fully absorb a creation that unfolds gradually, which is meant to be taken in piece by piece rather than standalone moments.
