echochamber are a 2000s nostalgia / post-hardcore band from Bristol, England.
Their new single ‘downpour’ is a metaphor for a sudden flood of mixed emotions.
The song specifically deals with the realization that your life is going nowhere and you’re stuck in a rut with no way out. While your peers seem to be moving onto bigger and better things you feel like you’re being left behind.
In the same breath it’s also reminiscing on better times when you were younger and had hopes and dreams that no longer feel like they can come true.
It’s feeling depressed that you haven’t achieved anything with your life and you feel like you’re never going to amount to anything whilst also reminiscing and feeling nostalgic about better, simpler times when things made sense.
