After a three-year hiatus, country-folk singer-songwriter Kainen Kellum returns with “House of the Lord,” a powerful new single inspired by real-life experiences that explores faith, healing, and the lasting impact of church hurt.

“When I was growing up, my parents and I attended an old Baptist church, and this song tells the story of that place. There was some bad behavior going on, and when someone finally spoke up about it, hardly anyone was happy, so we left. I wrote this song as a way of cementing the truth into stone. My hope is that others who have experienced something similar can find solace in it and know they’re not alone,” shares Kellum.
Written solely by Kellum, “House of the Lord” transforms a deeply personal chapter into a powerful reflection on faith, healing, and resilience. Rather than questioning belief itself, the song explores the difficult reality that sometimes the people and places meant to provide comfort can leave lasting wounds.
