Their growing reputation as a must-see live act has led to continued opportunities, including an upcoming appearance starting this week on Creed’s Summer of ’99 Cruise aboard the Norwegian Joy alongside Collective Soul, Daughtry, Living Colour and Creed.

Then on May 16, MJT returns to New York City for a highly anticipated performance at Groove, building on the success of their recent residency at The Bitter End. The show will feature collaborations with standout players including members of TAUK, bassist Jonathan Maron, and guitar prodigy Brandon “Taz” Niederaurer. The night will also include a special appearance by fellow NYC natives Strawberry Sun, creating a dynamic, community-driven bill that reflects MJT’s deep roots in the city’s live music scene. The band will also release their new single,Past Present,” on the same day, adding another layer of excitement to an already landmark evening.

Just days later, on May 22, MJT will take the stage at The Warehouse in Amityville for what stands as their most crucial hometown-area performance of the year. Joined by Mr. Rooster and Dystfunktone, the band is aiming to draw over 300 paid attendees for a night that represents both a return and a statement. Notably, this will be MJT’s first Long Island performance of 2026, a strategic move following a deliberate absence from the local market to build anticipation and maximize impact. The show also marks the band’s 40th performance of the year, underscoring their tireless work ethic and growing demand.

Composed of brothers Matt, David, and Jordan Godfrey, MJT has spent over a decade honing a genre-blending sound that fuses progressive rock, blues, jazz, and soul. Their story is as compelling as their music. The trio first captured national attention in 2009 after sneaking out of a homeless shelter to win Amateur Night at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem. What began as survival has evolved into a powerful, independent career defined by resilience, musicianship, and a relentless DIY spirit.

Since then, MJT has shared stages with acclaimed acts including Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Living Colour, Alter Bridge, Sevendust, TAUK, and lespecial. They have also appeared at notable festivals such as Pilgrimage Music Fest, Great South Bay Music Festival, Blue Point Brewery’s Shakedown, and Wimbash. Their growing reputation as a must-see live act has led to continued opportunities, including an upcoming appearance on Creed’s Summer of ’99 Cruise aboard the Norwegian Joy alongside Collective Soul, Daughtry, and Creed.

In addition to their touring momentum, MJT continues to expand their catalog with a series of recent releases, including their latest album Mr. NoOne, Pt 2, released in September 2025. Fan-favorite tracks such as “Daydreamer,” “Hopeless,” and “Here We Go” showcase the band’s emotional depth and musical versatility. Their newest single, “Man in the Static,” released in July 2025, further cements their evolving sound, while the upcoming “Past Present” signals yet another step forward.

Beyond these May performances, the band shows no signs of slowing down. MJT is set to perform at Friendly Gathering in Windham, Vermont this July, while drummer Jordan Godfrey will take the international stage, joining legendary hip hop group Onyx for a series of European festival dates across Germany and Bosnia.

With industry attention increasing, a live set recently recorded by nugs, and a growing national footprint, MJT is entering a defining chapter. The May 16 and May 22 performances are not just shows, they are strategic milestones in a larger movement to solidify MJT as one of the most compelling live acts emerging today.

More About MJT:

Matt, David, and Jordan Godfrey are a team of three virtuosos who have been performing together for 15 years covering a variety of genres ranging from rock, blues, and jazz. The Godfrey brothers first gained national attention in 2009 by sneaking out of a homeless shelter to win the fabled Amateur Night contest at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem, NYC. Growing up, playing music was a means of survival.

Now, they have established themselves with a DIY-approach over the years playing at festivals like Great South Bay, Blue Point Brewery Shakedown, Doug Wimbish’s (Living Colour) Wimbash, supported Miles Kennedy/Slash with the Conspirators, and Alter Bridge’s 2023 North American Tour, as well as backed Tash Neal (London Souls) and well-known reggae artist Yellowman. Matt Godfrey (keys/bass) currently plays keyboards in Brandon “Taz” Niederaur’s ensemble.

Armed with the final chapter of Mr. NoOne Pt 2, MJT is ready to continue sharing their epic story.
